Dear fellow parishioners,

The construction of our Fellowship Hall has begun. The construction site has expanded by now on all sides of our church. Moreover, since Sunday, May 4, the sidewalk between the church and the parish house has been removed. Please exercise extreme caution, for the grounds are not and will not be safe for a while. Particularly dangerous is the approach to the parish house.

St. Elizabeth Greek-Orthodox Church Parish Council

OPEN INVITATION

to support the completion

of the Fellowship Hall

Scope and purpose

The purpose of constructing the Fellowship Hall is as follows: to provide for Sunday school classrooms; to provide for adult educational activities of the community; to provide meeting rooms and space for various meetings (such as those of the parish council and general assembly, Philoptochos, choir, Orthodox groups of students at the University of Florida); to conduct various fundraisers for the church, such as luncheons, dinners, parties, dances, and festivals; to hold receptions for baptisms and weddings of members of our congregation; to have a location for the fellowship after every Sunday's Divine Liturgy; to have a facility on every Christmas and Easter that could accommodate a larger group of people than our present facility can currently take. In short, the Fellowship Hall is needed to provide for the spiritual and social development of the parish members.

Brief description of the planned Hall

The planned Fellowship Hall is approximately 4,000 square feet of building space. The major elements of the building are the central open area; three classrooms; a small stage (which can also be used as altar); small dressing rooms; a kitchen; office rooms for the priest and for his secretary; separate restrooms for men and women; storage areas. The cost of completing the proposed Fellowship Hall is roughly estimated to be $700,000.
